Topgolf offers the opportunity for Special Olympics athletes and Unified Partners to train nationwide at their facilities free of charge. Athletes all over the nation are given the opportunity to practice and sharpen their skills with access to state-of-the-art equipment. This is an opportunity that sparks motivation and fosters ambition in athletes.

Last week, Nick Turner, a multi-sport athlete from Area 1 - Nashville, shared his excitement for this partnership. Turner stated his favorite part of training was “getting actual hits in and getting to hang out and meet people”.

This was Turner’s first time at Topgolf, noting he was excited to come back and continue training. Turner also competes in flag football and swimming, showcasing how Topgolf’s partnership allows athletes to be able to expand their training horizons and participate in various sports with new opportunities. Turner is just one of many athletes who have been able to train and play at Topgolf, gaining new athletic possibilities through this partnership.

Turner stated that this was the first time he was able to get some swings in, allowing him to branch out into a new sport. Throughout his session, Turner worked on improving his form, and making adjustments to his swing, seeing results in real-time with the facility's point technology. Not all athletes have regular access to training facilities, therefore training free of charge is a great benefit and resource to have. During each session, athletes are given access to Topgolf bays, allowing them to train with other athletes, as well as engage in competition through access to multiple games.

This partnership between Topgolf and Special Olympics brings more diversity and inclusion to golf, creating a competitive and supportive environment for all athletes. The future of this partnership includes the first branded, medaled event in Special Olympics history. Athletes are given more opportunities through partnerships such as this, fostering environments of athletic development and support.
