Caroline Palmer from the Tennessee Titans recently participated in the 2024 Music City Corporate Challenge presented by Lifepoint Health at Lipscomb University, winning gold for her team. Palmer showcased her passion for fitness within Special Olympics Tennessee by remaining a determined athlete in the dodgeball event.
As the Senior Manager of Alumni and Marketing at the Tennessee Titans for two and a half years, Palmer has shown her commitment to supporting Special Olympics Tennessee.
“I think Special Olympics is great," said Palmer. "We do a lot of work with them through the Titans and support a lot of different initiatives they have, and so this is a fun way to support them in the work that they do in a different aspect and get our employees involved to learn more about the great work and athletes that they support.”
Throughout the dodgeball tournament, Palmer worked closely with her team despite the fact that it was her first time and the competitive atmosphere. When she faced the Nashville Predators in the championship game, however, Palmer’s experience was one to remember.
“It was fun to play against another professional sports team in the area, and we do a lot of work with the Predators in the community, so it’s fun to get to come out and compete with them in a different sense," said Palmer.
Palmer’s experience with the Corporate Challenge has sparked a passion for giving back to the community. To her, supporting organizations in Tennessee is crucial in helping them bolster their missions.
“We know we have different employees involved who do not necessarily work in our community space, so they are getting to learn more about Special Olympics and see fun events like this they get to put on and learn more about them to help support their causes," said Palmer.”
Ultimately, Palmer’s experience within the Music City Corporate Challenge alone has given her a platform to show us all the importance of giving back to communities—pillars of Special Olympics Tennessee and the Tennessee Titans.
“One of the pillars of our organization is to serve, and so it's essential to give back to our Nashville community and the state of Tennessee for all they do to support us," said Palmer.
