Throughout last week, companies from the Greater Nashville Area participated in Dodgeball at the 2024 Music City Corporate Challenge presented by Lifepoint Health. This fundraising event allows different companies to interact with each other and support their community through fitness and sporting events. Of the seven businesses that participated in the dodgeball tournament on July 11th, CAPTRUST won it all in an enthusiastic, intense competition filled with laughter and fun for their employees.

While CAPTRUST is a veteran competitor at Music City Corporate Challenge, this was the first time participating for summer intern Denton Sensing. Sensing played very hard throughout the night and was a key component in winning the gold medal for his team.

“It was a lot of fun, fierce competition, but I love competing,” said Sensing.

Being newer to the company, these games not only helped Denton get more involved in the community and with Special Olympics TN but also brought him closer to his team at CAPTRUST. He witnessed firsthand the community formed when competing and having fun with a group of people.

“I wanted to come out tonight because it’s a team event…it was fun and I support everything Special Olympics does,” said Sensing.

All in all, every employee who attended the event benefitted in their physical and emotional health, as they actively worked together in a competitive environment while promoting fitness and the inclusive mission of Special Olympics Tennessee. Denton’s message for other businesses is that “it’s important to support organizations like Special Olympics. It can be fun getting together, it's a blast competing and you get your chance for glory.”

Watch more companies get their “chance for glory” or get your own company to register a team for Sand Volleyball, Pickleball, Bowling, Basketball and Trivia throughout the upcoming dates: July 17, 18, 23, 25, 30, 31 and August 1st and 6th. Learn more here.
